Used as a sport and an art of self defense, submission grappling is a mode of fighting that is derived from many styles (Brazilian Jui Jitsu, Wrestling, Sambo, Judo etc); using a collection of technique& strategies to defeat an opponent (usually without strikes). Submission grappling focuses on controlling an opponent through clinch range, throws & take downs, and ground fighting; with the ultimate goal of obtaining a submission via chokeholds, compression locks, and joint locks.
These sessions are specifically developed to work on your "ground" and wrestling game. We will to start with the basics, going over techniques and positioning. Grappling not only involves ground work, but also "clinch" range (wrestling), where I will teach you how to overpower and out-maneuver your opponents. We will drill in the skills that I have taught you, with no resistance, to ensure that you have perfect form. We will do controlled "rolling" to further develop your abilities. Once you are advanced enough, we will move into rolling with a partner (with resistance), going for submissions and refining your skills.
